I 1980 ble manager Miles Copeland III satt til å samle dagsaktuelle band i undergrunnsmiljøet til USA og Europa, med det formål å presentere dem samlet i èn spektakulær kinoopplevelse. Han begynte med bandet han selv var manager for, The Police, og i sluttproduktet er listen med hele 35 band så stjernespekket at nesten hver form av sjangrene Punk, New Wave og Post-Punk er representert. Mange av artistene er i dag kjent som musikklegender, mens andre er glemt til tiden. Uansett er alle fremføringene fortsatt unike opplevelser og filmen fungerer som den beste tidskapselen til å se hvordan musikklandskapet så ut på begynnelsen av 80-tallet.

In 1980 manager Miles Copeland III was tasked with finding fresh bands from the underground scene in the US and Europe. The idea was to present them all in one spectacular cinema experience. He started with the band he himself managed, The Police, ending with a list of 35 bands in total, so wide in concept that almost every type of Punk, New Wave and Post-Punk was represented. Many of the featured bands are today known as music legends, others are lost in time. Regardless, all the performances are truly unique and the film works today as the best time capsule for experiencing the musical landscape of the early 80s.
